Yay for Spring and warm temperatures! It's been a good two weeks! Today I hit the bike for the fourth time in the last week... got another 15 miles to help get the legs going again.
Last week we ventured to Vegas for the NASCAR Race. The gang rented a great house in South Vegas area near Silverton. It was amazing! So much more comfortable than staying in a hotel - especially on the strip! We did go down to the strip for a short bit... to visit the Apple store in Fashion Show mall. But... I held strong and didn't buy that Macbook Pro I wanted so very badly! The race was pretty good, too. The weather was much better than last year. For the Cup race it was 90 degrees! Yay again! I got a tad bit sunburned... but hey, it was NASCAR and a red neck is a prerequisite.
I haven't heard yet on the ISU job and I'm pretty bummed about it. I've been assured that my name is still in the hat, but I'm not too optomistic right now. If I have to live my career at HHS I'm going to be reaaaaaallllly depressed! I want so badly to teach at the U level... and ISU is my only hope since we're not moving anywhere! And I WON'T teach at that silly school up in Rexburg. No chance!
Did I mention that with all this sun... I even went snowmobiling this past weekend! No lie... it was 65 degrees in Island Park and just enough snow to have a little fun on that new Arctic Cat M8! FABULOUS sunny skies and no gloves needed. What a view of the Tetons it was from atop Two Top!Brent and I are getting ready to build a cabin this summer. We're just doing a guest cabin for now... something to get on that land before we're ready to build the big one. Our plan is to build a 14x20 guest cabin. I'm so excited! I've been building log furniture in anticipation! No... REALLY! I've build a log bed and three tables so far (end table, coffee table and a tv table). There's not going to be any room left in that little cabin! :) I bought a toilet, too! :)
That's about it for now. Brent and I are headed to Vancouver, WA this weekend for Northwest Athletic Trainers' Conference... then Spring Break next week. I hope the weather stays nice so the rides can continue. Otherwise it's just back to the boring runs!
I'm Out.
