Heaven on Earth

There aren't many places in this world I love more than Island Park, Idaho. The beauty and serenity of that place are amazing. I can be the most stressed out person on Earth at home... take a two hour drive north... hop on my snowmachine and WHAM! ... problems resolved! Brent and I are eagerly awaiting the snowmelt so we can pour the foundation for our new cabin. Even though it's just going to be a small guest cabin, it'll get us by until our main cabin is built in a few years! I'm so thankful we had this inspirational thought! Waiting a few more years for the main cabin would have been excruciating... but now, heaven will be accessible anytime we feel like it.. and Scatch can come, too!

Last weekend we took the Parmleys up to IP for a little recreation in the snow! It was great to see them enjoy themselves so much! Those Texans fell in love with the place and they've invited themselves to go along with us again in mid-February! That's so wonderful! Hopefully this time we'll be able to take them up Two Top for a spectacular view.. and maybe up to Henry's Lake. I know Madeleine wants to go into the Park for a ride, too. Perhaps we'll buy a guide for a day so he can drive us through (you know those damn new rules prohibit us from riding through Y'Stone w/o an overpriced guide these days! Oh well.. damn tourists kept going off the trails where they don't belong so it's a good rule!).

This week, Brent and I are headed for Tampa, FL. I've got an NATA PR meeting there. It'll be a nice WARM trip. It's been -20 here at night so I'm not sure I'll know how to handle those mid 70s in January. Still, I'd probably rather be riding my new Arctic Cat up a mountain range somewhere in NE Idaho!

That's about it... First semester of school is over! I'm looking forward to a quick second semester! I have a student teacher... a guy named Russ Wood. Look out world.. he's a very talented film producer so he won't be in education long! Lucky guy!

I'm out. Go Colts.
