Hello again!
Well.. the big news this week is that I had LASIK surgery yesterday! I was near blind (it felt) to begin with, so any improvement would have been well-appreciated. I was pretty nervous about the procedure. I've seen the video! I see how they suck your eyeball forward and then cut the cornea, fold it back and then zap the eye! It doesn't look too fun! Pretty scary, actually! But, as it turned out, I was amazed at how simple it was! The worst part was the clamp they use to hold your eyelids open! After that, it was a cinch. I thought I'd be scared about the picture going to black for those few seconds. That was no big deal. It really was a slick trick. Each eye took about 1 minute and twenty seconds total. Wow. And today I can seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Sweet. I went in for my follow up... things look good but the vision isn't quite perfect... but close. So I'm pretty happy. Dr. Gardner might do a touch up in 6 mos if I'm still a little blurry in the right eye... but hopefully things will improve on their own! And Yes... that's my eyeball!
Football is in full swing at HHS. The freshman and JVs are going at it and the varsity will begin on Monday. Vball also started today. I'm not very excited about it. I really love those kids... but the work hours are crazy. I'm going to miss my free time. Athletic trainers have hard gigs.. especially at Highland HS. We are expected to do every sport and every class... which is physically impossible. I make less than $1 an hour when all hours are done ... but have never really done it for the money... Now I'm thinking my sanity is more important. We'll see... I may just cut back a lot this year and if the boss doesn't like it, I'm fine to not do it at all. I've got to have my sanity.. and my health. I feel good about how much my fitness level has improved this past year and I'm not willing to sacrifice that.
I'm also excited about Island Park. Can't wait for the snow! I'm also excited to get a cabin built on that land we purchased! That's pretty exciting!!!!
Time for practice #2 of the day. I'm out.

Hey mom--congrats on your surgery. I really want and need to talk to you, so I will be getting a hold of you soon. I am such a bad son for taking so long to call you and Q. Lot's of updates, and maybe even a favor to ask...
