Xmas 2007

Well... there she is. The most beautiful place on Earth. OK. I might be exaggerating a little, but it's just about the coolest place on Earth - to us! The cabin is nearly finished! What's left to do -

mud the walls
finish the electrical (install outlets and turn 'em on)
tile and carpet the floor
put up the rails on the loft and deck
counters, cupboards and sinks
sit the toilet
move the appliances in
give smitty and brent the front door key!

It's just amazing how fast it's all been going... although we did have to wait what seemed a lifetime to get to the building phase! I'm so happy with our builders - Burt and Company from Utah. They are such great young men... with bright futures! I'm thankful for all their hard work during less-than-ideal weather conditions.

The hot tub and the DISH tv were installed this past week. I really wish we could be spending Xmas night there.. but we'll be in within the next couple of weeks so I'm taking consolation in that. What an amazing Xmas present!

On Wednesday we will head back up there to ride the snowmachines a little and gawk even more. We have to stop by and pick out our appliances in Rexburg on the way up. I think they're getting installed next week. Wow. I still cannot believe that place is ours. It's so beautiful - the Mercedes Benz of little cabins!

The workouts have been few and far between.. but I'm starting to get a little amped up about starting back up on Jan 1. The new semester brings a new, less flexible schedule, but I think that will end up being a good thing.

Happy Holidays to whoever (doesn't) read this. Let it snow!
